Baedeker accepts travel writing, photography, and other forms of content from NYU students, alumni, and faculty.

We normally publish stories of at least 250 words in length, though shorter pieces and poems are perfectly acceptable. Our focus is on exposing our audience to interesting, practical information about any location on earth and inspiring them to take advantage of the experiences the world can offer. We encourage (but do not require) writers to submit photographs to accompany their articles, and to take a look at our general guide for writers, which can be found here.

For photo-centric submissions, we accept both standalone images and cohesive photo essays that give viewers real insight into a place and its culture. We like to have writing (either captions or short stories) to accompany photography submissions, but do not require it.

This year, we are looking to expand beyond stories, poems, and photos, and into unique types of travel content like maps, illustrations, recipes, interviews, etc. Whether you have a fully-created piece of alternative content, or just an idea, we encourage you to submit it to us.

To submit work, follow the links below. We are more than happy to read pitches and work with submitters on developing their content, though it is not required. If you have any questions, please email us or visit our Contact Us page.
