President

Having studied abroad at NYU London as a junior, Bohan had already made travel into a big part of his identity before joining Baedeker as its first Chief of Operations. Now, as its departing President, he has made it his entire personality. In his free time, you can spot Bohan going broke to fund his travels, stargazing in the backcountry, or attempting to perfect his homemade pasta recipe (impossible).

Chief of Photography

Filippo is an Italian-Brazilian filmmaker and photographer based in New York City. He loves telling real stories and documenting the beauty of the natural world, whether it is through documentaries, narrative films, or commercial photography. In the fall of 2023, Filippo's affinity for travel and narrative led him to discover the Baedeker travel publication at NYU. Since then, he has served as the Chief of Photography for the magazine, where he selects images for printed issues and the website, while also leading a talented team of photo editors. He is now done writing in third person.

Chief of Design

Melanie is a junior majoring in Computer Science and Psychology, and minoring in Digital Design. She has served as Baedeker's Chief of Design since Fall 2023. The only thing she loves more than graphic design and typography is going to concerts, which she does far too often. She can be easily bribed with boba, cute dogs, and obscure musical artifacts.

Editor-in-Chief

Cal Galicia is a professional liar (storyteller), while taking L's on a part-time basis on the side. If he seems stand-offish, it's probably because he's working on a film or song in his head. Currently, he is a managing editor, ensuring that the big words and the small words make good stories.

Editor-in-Chief

Eva is a junior studying Media, Culture, and Communications with a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. Originally from Colorado, she currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of NYU Baedeker and (obviously) loves to travel, with a favorite location being Cannon Beach, Oregon. An avid soccer player and amateur surfer, she plans on working for an women's soccer team in the future, but for now is satisfied going to every game in the area possible.

Managing Editor

Vivian is a senior studying International Relations and Journalism at NYU, with a minor in Russian and Slavic Studies. After graduation, she plans to work as a paralegal before going to law school and hopes to one day work in immigration law. Currently, she is one of Baedeker's managing editors. When she's not sending you feedback on your draft, you can find her listening to dad rock, trying new recipes, or hanging out with her beloved pet lizards.

Managing Editor

Hayley is a sophomore studying Psychology with a minor in Web Programming. She joined Baedeker in the spring of 2022 and has worked as both a writer and managing editor. Writing is her passion, but she also enjoys baking and reading both classic literature and books about clinical psychology. She dreams of travelling the world with her dog, Barry.

Chief of Global Operations

Natalia Badger is a Junior at NYU Gallatin concentrating in Art History, Education, and a minor in Media, Culture, and Communications. Natalia has worked as a published writer, designer, Secretary, and most recently as the Chief of Global Operations at Baedeker. Natalia, of course, loves to travel absolutely anywhere, swim laps, eat sour blueberries, listen to Beach House, scrapbook little things she collects, and go thrifting.

Head of Global Strategies

Shuhe is an novice economist. He was the first president of the magazine club and published its first abroad edition in Florence during 2023 Fall. He led the Baedeker Ambassador program in London, Sydney, and Florence during 2024 Spring, supporting the publishing and printing of three abroad editions. He likes to dress fashionably in the rat city but prefers to get lost sometimes in the mountains with Jonny, most of the time in the winter.

Head of Logistics

Jonny is a senior studying finance who, along with Shuhe, restarted Baedeker in 2023 as Editor-in-Chief. A hardcore Cascadian and self-proclaimed mountain nut, Jonny will drop anything he is doing to hike, bike, climb, or ski a mountain when the opportunity presents itself. Jonny and Shuhe started Baedeker by writing stories of their myriad misshaps in the mountains together, and now that they're graduating, they plan to do it all again with a new mountain zine Goddard Chronologia.

Head of Outreach

Claire Sohn is a sophomore in NYU’s Liberal Studies program, intending to major in Media, Culture, and Communication at Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Currently, she is Head of Outreach for Baedeker, in charge of coordinating events and sponsorships for the magazine. In her free time, Claire enjoys reading and writing, listening to too much Taylor Swift, and cooking to relieve all her stress.

Chief of Marketing

Liv is a junior studying Media, Culture, and Communications with a minor in music. Proudly a Bostonian -> New York transplant, Liv has always had an affinity for publication which led her to Baedeker last year. When she is not fielding 1,000 marketing requests from the team, she is hanging out with her dog, Milo, making art and music, cooking and spending good time with good people.

Head of Graphics

Amanda is a junior studying Business and Political Economy with a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, & Technology. She is Baedeker's first Head of Graphics, where she has helped Liv produce our very first brand guidelines, our press and parternships kits, and our Division-wide Marketing Handbook. Originally from Colorado, she loves the outdoors and is a big skiier, who is also working on her first book of poetry.

Head of Videography

Ava is a freshman in arts serving as Baedeker's Spring 2024 Head of Videography, during which time she made our new documentary, our marketing materials for events and recruiting, as well as countless amazing Baedeker web videos. Ava, the Videography team, and the rest of the Marketing Division have so many amazing new video projects that they cannot wait to show you next semester and beyond.

Head of Web Design

Ben is a senior studying Computer Science and is responsible for making our entire new website with his team. Jonny has known him since middle school and started wooing him to Baedeker a year ago, finally succeeding this past March when he, Bohan, Liv, and Shuhe came together to promise Ben twenty Meal Vouchers, redeemable at any time for the next ten years.
